OpsGenie

Trigger incident assembly when an OpsGenie alert fires.

OpsGenie Integration

The OpsGenie integration triggers incident assembly when an OpsGenie alert fires. Incidentary assembles the causal artifact from the events your services have already captured.

How it works

  1. An alert fires in OpsGenie
  2. OpsGenie sends a webhook to Incidentary
  3. Incidentary identifies the alerting service, assembles the causal chain from the pre-alert capture window, and creates an incident
  4. The shared incident URL is available for distribution via Slack or directly

Setup

Step 1: Get your Incidentary webhook URL

In the Incidentary dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations → OpsGenie. Copy the webhook URL shown there.

Step 2: Configure an OpsGenie integration

  1. In OpsGenie, go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Add Integration
  3. Search for Webhook and select it
  4. Name: Incidentary
  5. Webhook URL: paste the Incidentary webhook URL
  6. Under Trigger, select the alert conditions that should send to Incidentary (typically Create and Acknowledge)
  7. Save the integration

Step 3: Test the integration

Create a test alert in OpsGenie for a service that has the Incidentary SDK installed. Within a few seconds, an incident should appear in the Incidentary dashboard.

The OpsGenie integration is available but not as fully documented as the Slack and PagerDuty integrations. If you encounter issues during setup, contact support.
